SAF

Went to recon with a few of my NCC guys today, went to a highly vegetated area near sengkang. The grass was waist high, the mozzies were plenty but we just kept walking. (i'm gonna get a machete for the next such trip :D) well it's a good experience for the guys. we later went to the "coastline" which was really just the side of a humongous canal, more like a river actually. well who knew? the "black beach sand" turned out to be knee deep mud and Sebastian went straight into it and got himself stuck. haha. what a klutz i thought. didn't i tell him to check first before plunging yourself into a new environment? any way i decided to give him a hand and what do you know? The algae on the rocks proved too much for my boots grip and i went knee deep as well. worse, my hands as well or it'd be my entire back in sticky gray coloured mud. well so much for helping him. though i did manage to pull my legs excruciating step by agonising step outta the mud, you can't stay still or it'll be harder to get out, so i finally got to the rocks, and finally helped Sebastian out. Boy were we a mess. so Sebastian suggested we wash our legs with the river water and i thought "no way can we get to the water unless getting our thighs plunged in mud." And i was right. once you get off the rocks, it's mud.\, mud and more mud. We even saw a little snake, looked like a baby python to me, consuming a fish and hiding in the safety of the rocks. That was the last straw for us. Back into the vegetation. we soon found a shin deep pool of water in the grass and i ferociously worked on removing the clay like mud of my boots and pants. I doubt any bus driver would let you on their bus with mud like THAT. lol. I pictured a plum 40-year old bus driver going:"uh uhhh..... OUT!" while shaking his head and index finger simultaneously. quite a funny thought. we went on checking out areas that could be used for jungle warfare training and fooled around from time to time, hey no uniform/rank means i'll be a fool with them and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, heh.took some beautiful pictures of scenaries, while the guys mainly focused on stupid pictures like the whole bunch of us sitting one of the construction machines, just like soldiers would take pictures on a tank. lol. i guess dreams can go a long way if the right stuff are put in, so i didn't stop them, also because there wasn't a single construction worker in sight.

well really. i only slept for 2 hours last night and after all that i'm not asleep yet. results are tomorrow you see. that could mean the difference between just dreaming the dream or living the dream. but i'm confident it's the latter this time, my greatest thanks to all you friends keeping me in prayer.
